Letter to the Editor

In their cavalier efforts to win over extreme conservative voters, both John McCain and Sarah Palin are ignoring the logical consequences of their position on abortion. They enthusiastically seek to overturn Roe v. Wade and ban abortion. But if abortion is outlawed, women and their doctors will be turned into criminals. What will those criminal penalties be? Will good doctors stop providing abortions? And if good doctors aren’t there for women, who will be? We know from painful history that banning abortions won’t stop them; it will just make them extremely dangerous. Will Palin and McCain really stand by and let that happen . . . again?
